Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Royal blue gel food coloring
  • Electric blue gel food coloring
  • Violet gel food coloring

Mix-ins

  • 2/3 cup white chocolate chips, divided
  • 2/3 cup chopped mini Chips Ahoy cookies
  • 2/3 cup chopped Oreo cookies

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt until well mixed. Set this dry mixture aside for later use.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter with the light brown sugar and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Then beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition, and stir in the pure vanilla extract.
  3. Divide and Color Dough: Divide the wet ingredients evenly into three portions. Tint each portion separately with royal blue, electric blue, and violet gel food coloring, stirring well until the color is evenly distributed throughout each dough portion.
  4. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry flour mixture to each colored wet dough portion, mixing on low speed just until combined. Be careful not to overmix to keep the cookies tender.
  5. Incorporate Mix-ins: Add about half of the white chocolate chips to each colored dough portion. Split the chopped mini Chips Ahoy cookies between the two blue dough portions and the chopped Oreo cookies between the blue dough portions as well. Gently fold these mix-ins into the dough.
  6. Form Cookies: Using a spoon, scoop portions of each colored dough, then gently press them together and roll into balls for a marbled, multicolored effect. Place the shaped dough balls on parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them to allow for spreading.
  7. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the cookies for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For best results, use gel food coloring as it provides vibrant colors without thinning the dough.
  • Ensure butter is softened to room temperature to help with proper creaming and dough consistency.
  • Mix the dough portions gently after adding dry ingredients to avoid tough cookies.
  • Customize the amount of each colored dough when rolling the balls to achieve different marbled patterns.
  • Cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
