Refreshingly Sweet Brazilian Limeade is a creamy and zesty beverage made with fresh limes, cold water, and sweetened condensed milk. This cold drink offers a perfect balance of tartness and sweetness, ideal for hot days or as a delightful refreshment anytime. The creamy texture combined with the bright lime flavors makes it a beloved traditional Brazilian treat.

Ingredients

For the Limeade

  • 6 pieces Fresh Limes, chopped into pieces for easy blending
  • 3 cups Cold Water, adjusted based on preferred tartness
  • 1 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk, can substitute with regular milk and sugar if desired
  • Ice, use larger cubes to slow down dilution

Instructions

  1. Prepare the limes: Wash 6 fresh limes thoroughly to remove any dirt, wax, or pesticides. Cut each lime into about 8 pieces to make blending easier and more efficient.
  2. Blend the ingredients: In a powerful blender, combine the chopped lime pieces, 3 cups of cold water, and 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds until the mixture becomes smooth and well combined.
  3. Strain to remove pulp: Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl or pitcher and pour the blended mixture through it to remove pulp and lime peels. Use a spatula to gently press and extract as much liquid as possible for a smooth texture.
  4. Serve chilled: Fill two tall glasses with large ice cubes and pour the strained limeade over the ice. Garnish each glass with a lime slice or a fresh sprig of mint for an extra refreshing touch. Serve immediately for best flavor and coldness.

Notes

  • For a less sweet variation, reduce the amount of sweetened condensed milk or substitute with regular milk and sugar to taste.
  • Using larger ice cubes helps slow down dilution, preserving the limeade’s flavor longer.
  • Make sure to wash limes well to avoid any residues on the peel when blending.
  • Adjust the amount of water based on how tart or diluted you prefer your limeade.
  • Can be doubled or tripled easily for larger gatherings.
