This Mexican White Cheese Dip is a creamy, flavorful dip made from melted white American cheese combined with milk, heavy cream, and a blend of spices and pickled jalapeño juice for a mild kick. Perfect for serving warm alongside tortilla chips, over nachos, or as a delicious topping for tacos and burritos, this easy-to-make dip brings classic Tex-Mex flavors to your table with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Cheese Dip

  • 1 lb white American cheese (cubed or shredded)
  • 1/4 cup whole milk (more as needed)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp diced green chiles (optional)
  • 1 tsp pickled jalapeño juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • Pinch of cumin (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheese Dip: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the white American cheese, milk, and heavy cream. Stir continuously until the cheese is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Add Flavorings: Add the green chiles, jalapeño juice, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin if using. Stir well to combine and cook for another 2–3 minutes until heated through.
  3. Adjust Consistency: Add a little more milk if needed to reach your desired consistency. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Serve: Serve warm with tortilla chips, over nachos, or as a topping for tacos and burritos.

Notes

  • If you prefer a spicier dip, add more pickled jalapeño juice or finely chopped jalapeños.
  • Use low-fat milk or cream for a lighter version, but the texture might be less creamy.
  • To keep the dip warm for parties, place it in a small slow cooker on low heat.
  • For a smoother dip, shred the cheese finely and stir continuously while melting to prevent clumps.
  • This dip can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently on the stovetop.
