Deliciously rich and creamy Oreo Truffles made with crushed Oreo cookies and smooth cream cheese, dipped in melted semi-sweet chocolate for an indulgent, bite-sized treat that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Truffle Base

  • 14.3 oz Oreo cookies (approx. 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

Coating

  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate melting wafers
  • 2 extra Oreo cookies, crushed (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the whole Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until they reach a uniform, sandy texture without any large chunks, ensuring a fine crumb base for the truffles.
  2. Combine with cream cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the processed Oreo crumbs and pulse several times until the mixture forms a cohesive, dark dough that pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  3. Shape the truffles: Use a small 1-tablespoon scoop to portion the mixture into uniform mounds, then roll each portion between your palms until smooth and perfectly spherical.
  4. Freeze the truffles: Arrange the shaped truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes to firm them up and make dipping easier.
  5. Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate wafers in 30-second intervals, stirring well in between until smooth and fully melted.
  6. Dip the truffles: Using a fork, submerge each chilled truffle ball into the melted chocolate, let excess chocolate drip off, then place back on the baking sheet to set and harden.
  7. Garnish and serve: Optionally, sprinkle crushed Oreo pieces on top for added texture and visual appeal once the chocolate has slightly set. Allow the truffles to fully harden before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for easy mixing and smooth texture.
  • Freezing the truffles before dipping prevents them from falling apart in the chocolate.
  • You can use white or dark chocolate as an alternative coating for variety.
  • Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Handling the truffles with clean, dry hands helps maintain their smooth shape.
