Refreshing and frosty Frozen Cherry Coke Slushies combining the tartness of lime and cherries with the fizzy sweetness of Coca-Cola, optionally enhanced with a splash of bourbon, rum, or Campari for a spirited twist. Perfect for cooling down on a hot day or serving at casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Main Components

  • 28 ounces chilled Coca-Cola, divided
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1/2 cup bourbon, dark rum, or Campari (optional)
  • 2 cups frozen, pitted cherries

Garnishes

  • 1 lime, sliced into thin wheels
  • Maraschino cherries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Freeze Coca-Cola Ice Cubes: Pour 12 ounces (1 1/2 cups) of chilled Coca-Cola into ice cube trays and freeze until solid, about 3 to 4 hours. This step creates the slushy ice base for the drink.
  2. Blend Ingredients: In a blender, combine the juice of 2 limes and 1/2 cup of bourbon, dark rum, or Campari if using. Add the remaining 16 ounces (2 cups) of chilled Coca-Cola, along with the frozen Coca-Cola ice cubes and 2 cups of frozen, pitted cherries. Blend on high speed for 1 to 2 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed, until the mixture is completely smooth and icy.
  3. Serve and Garnish: Pour the blended cherry Coke slushies evenly into chilled glasses. Garnish each glass with a slice of lime wheel and optionally add maraschino cherries for extra sweetness and color. Serve immediately for the best icy texture.

Notes

  • For an alcohol-free version, simply omit the bourbon, rum, or Campari.
  • Use frozen cherries which are pitted to ensure smooth blending and better texture.
  • Chilling the serving glasses enhances the refreshing experience of the slushies.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding a small amount of simple syrup if desired.
  • This recipe can be doubled for larger gatherings.
