This vibrant Mangonada Mocktail Mango Chamoy is a refreshing, sweet and tangy Mexican-inspired beverage featuring a creamy mango base blended with lime and sugar, complemented by the spicy, savory flavors of chamoy and Tajín seasoning. Perfect for hot days, this mocktail combines smooth frozen mango nectar with a zesty rim and tamarind candy straw for a delightful twist.

Ingredients

Mango Base

  • 16 ounces frozen mango chunks
  • 1.5 cups mango nectar
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Assembly and Garnish

  • 3 tablespoons Chamoy sauce, divided
  • 2 tablespoons Tajín seasoning
  • Tamarind candy straws
  • Optional: mango or lime slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mango base: In a blender, combine the frozen mango chunks, mango nectar, ice cubes, freshly squeezed lime juice, and granulated sugar. Blend until completely smooth and creamy, ensuring a thick and refreshing consistency.
  2. Rim the glasses: Dip the rims of the serving glasses into Chamoy sauce, coating evenly. Then immediately dip the rims into Tajín seasoning to create a flavorful, vibrant, and spicy-salty crust that complements the sweetness of the mango.
  3. Add chamoy drizzle: Drizzle the remaining Chamoy sauce along the interior sides of each prepared glass. This adds extra tang and a visually appealing swirl inside the glass.
  4. Assemble the mocktail: Pour the blended mango mixture into the chamoy-rimmed glasses carefully. Insert a tamarind candy straw into each glass and optionally garnish with a slice of mango or lime to enhance presentation and aroma.
  5. Serve immediately: Serve the Mangonada Mocktail chilled to enjoy its refreshing and nuanced flavors at their best.

Notes

  • For a thicker texture, reduce mango nectar slightly or add more frozen mango chunks.
  • Adjust sugar to taste depending on the sweetness of the mango nectar and personal preference.
  • Chamoy sauce and Tajín can be found in Latin or international grocery stores.
  • The tamarind candy straw adds an authentic Mexican touch but can be omitted if unavailable.
  • Serve immediately as the ice will melt and dilute the drink over time.
