A simple and delicious recipe for Air Fryer Apples that are tender, flavorful, and perfectly spiced with cinnamon and vanilla. This quick snack or side dish uses wholesome ingredients and the air fryer for an easy, healthy treat in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Apples

  • 4 small/medium apples (Gala recommended)

Spices & Flavorings

  • 1½ tsp cinnamon, separated
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Oils & Butter

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil (vegetable oil can also be used)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Sweetener

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples: Wash and core the apples if desired, or slice them into rings or wedges depending on preference. Ensure evenly sized pieces for uniform cooking.
  2. Mix Spices and Oil: In a bowl, combine 1 teaspoon of cinnamon with the canola oil and vanilla extract. Stir well to incorporate the flavors.
  3. Coat the Apples: Toss the prepared apple pieces in the cinnamon-oil mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Air Fry the Apples: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the apple pieces in a single layer inside the basket to allow hot air circulation. Cook for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking; apples should be tender but not mushy.
  5. Add Butter and Sugar: After air frying, transfer the apples back to the bowl and drizzle with melted butter. Sprinkle the remaining ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and the 2 tablespoons of sugar, tossing gently to coat.
  6. Serve: Serve the warm air-fried apples as a healthy snack, dessert topping, or side dish.

Notes

  • Use firm apple varieties like Gala, Fuji, or Honeycrisp for best texture.
  • Adjust sugar quantity based on apple sweetness and personal preference.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with coconut oil or a plant-based butter alternative.
  • Ensure the air fryer basket is not overcrowded for proper cooking.
  • These apples are perfect served with oatmeal, yogurt, or ice cream.
