This Cheesecake Crescent Rolls Casserole is a delightful and easy-to-make dessert perfect for any occasion. Combining creamy cheesecake filling with flaky, buttery crescent roll dough and a cinnamon-sugar topping, this casserole offers a rich, comforting treat that can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.

Ingredients

Crescent Dough

  • 2 cans of refrigerated crescent roll dough

Cheesecake Filling

  • 2 (8 ounce) blocks of cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Topping

  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare filling: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, then mix thoroughly until the filling is well combined and smooth.
  2. Assemble base layer: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Unroll one can of refrigerated crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of a greased baking dish, covering the base completely.
  3. Add cheesecake filling layer: Spread the prepared cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent dough layer in the baking dish.
  4. Add top layer: Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and arrange it over the cream cheese filling, sealing the edges to encase the filling inside.
  5. Prepare topping: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Mix well to create the cinnamon-sugar butter sauce.
  6. Apply topping and bake: Brush the cinnamon-sugar butter mixture generously over the top layer of crescent dough. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Cool and serve: Remove from the oven and allow the casserole to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature for best flavor.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in the filling.
  • For a variation, add fresh fruit like blueberries or chopped strawberries inside the cheesecake layer.
  • You can double the cinnamon-sugar topping for a more pronounced flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently in the oven or microwave before serving.
